$40 a month and if you don't remember to cancel a month before you want to cancel they will still charge you for the next month.

We came in one morning to find no one at the front desk. Waited nearly five minutes before a gentleman appeared. Unapologetic and seemingly aloof to our standing there, we asked about membership information.

Gym Rating: 2 Stars only because this place has a powerlifting set up for Deadlifts and Dumbbell that go over 100lbs, if not for that I would never come here again.

Well, this associate broke away from us to converse with a member and without excusing himself. Rude. Very, very rude.

I specifically remember saying you were rude and inconsiderate. This is after you mouthed off to me. You must not have been taught how to respond politely in a social situation. You admitted you keep to yourself.

Pros:

PS: Joined another, yet more expensive, gym but the front line staff were more professional, eager to meet and sign us. We're giving two stars here because, near as we can tell, the gym equipment offered variety as well as an organized and clean space.

Relatively quiet most of the time I go

Either this dude - tall with black curly hair - is not versed on his company's policy or not very bright. Suffice to say, we left.

We inquired if rates were less upon paying in advance. He responded in the affirmative but quoted us prices a tad higher. When we pointed out his contradiction, he seem perplexed and without curiosity.

The membership here is NOT at all friendly. I've been to over 50 different gyms, and at no other gym have I gotten so many dirty looks, judging eyes and seen so many people not racking their weights. For example, one night while doing a superset between 2 different machines (was strapped for time) I was utterly yelled at by a guy who had stole my machine after I told him that I still had a few sets left on it (never said he couldn't work in, but once he called me a douchebag, I had no interest in offering anymore)

First of all this young boy Zach doesn’t understand gym etiquette. When the gym is busy you don’t circuit train or super set as he calls it. Rule 18 it’s on the board. This is common practice at most gyms. Must be the fifty gyms he visited he didn’t read those rules either. If you are trying to boot someone off a machine when you’re on the other side of the gym. It’s not going to over well.

Good powerlifting gym set up (for the most part)

This is your "dad's" or "uncle's" workout gym. Serious. Modestly priced. Always available to members (key pass system). Kind of older equipment but it ALL works. I mean a 50# barbell is always a 50# barbell even if it isn't all bright and shiney and new!

For many years, we knew of great things about this gym.

Great bodybuilding and lifting gym with a friendly staff. This isn't Planet Fitness in the best ways. Tons of free weights, squat platforms, Oly stations, heavy bags and more!

Staff is friendly, but not that welcoming

In the 5 years of training at this gym I never had a problem with anyone until you. I can say with confidence im well liked at this gym.

However, we did return later in the week only to see him manning the desk and appearing otherwise engaged and distracted. Another red flag.

To the comment about being called a douche bag. This is true you were called a douche bag but it didn’t come out my mouth. That was another member. Must be they thought you were acting immature.

The fact you talked negatively about flex is beyond me. This is one of the best gyms in West Michigan. The equipment is quality and when you buy quality it last for a life time. This is a real gym!

Equipment looks like it hasn't been updated in 20+ years. All the 45lb plates are different sizes, thicknesses and some are cracked

It’s Sad to see you write so negatively about your experience when you created the issue. I think you just have some growing up to do.

This is in regards to Zach bouwkamp’s review

Cons:

*To close I’d just like to say if you would spend more time lifting weights rather then looking and posing in the mirror maybe you would see some real gains and not look like a twig.
