I've had great experience with hertz up until this rental. I attempted to extend the rental by two weeks and they said "fine". A couple days later, I get a text message saying I have gone past my contract period and need to contact them. I call and they say "We see there's a note extending your contract to 10/17, but it's just a note. We didn't extend it.". Really? Nice job Hertz. So, they're charging me $12 extra everyday for a late fee.
This place has the weird reject cars. I rented a small car and got one so tiny I could drive with my head out the sunroof. (Probably why the sunroof was there.) The next car I rented smells so terrible with chemical cleaner I use a gas mask while driving it. I fear the chemical off gassing will give me cancer.

Tracy provided superb customer service! And when the previous customer left a "smoky" car, Mike & Tracy remedied the matter in record time!
If I could rate zero stars I would. They will find any way they can to take your money. $30 for toll service we never used, $50 for extra 'administrative fee', on top of $200 for a new windshield because a pebble dinged it. Stay away from Hertz, they're just out to screw you.
