The woods are not very dense, so the views are really beautiful. There are lots of oaks, maples and some cherry trees. The trails are well maintained with hard-pack dirt with some sandy areas (especially on the climbs near the beaches).

Beautiful Park with great trails

Over a mile of pure sand beach. Because of a half mile walk through the woods and over a dune it sometimes feels like you have the place to yourself. Lake Michigan is awesome.

However, I did walk a number of the trails in the park. The Beach trail is short. The distances stated on the map are actually round-trip, which is not made clear. The Beach at the end of the Beach Trail is bigger than the area at the Livingston trail. There is no "No Dogs" sign at the Beach trail beach, but there is one at the Livingston Trail beach.

Very nice state park with a multitude of trails. Upper trails were the best and lead to an amazing place to hang out and enjoy the beach along the lake. Grab your best girl, pack a picnic and a blanket so you can spend the afternoon then enjoy the sunset.

Always a joy for hiking and beachgoing. Beaches are relatively private due to the hike to get there and the expanse of the lake shore, as well as limited parking. I always see wildlife on my walks, and the walks themselves through dune forest is beautiful.

I am a disc golfer, but didn't bring my discs, so I can't speak to the course, other than it looks nice and well maintained and I was bummed that I couldn't play it.

While there are restrooms here and ample parking, this is a bring-your-own kind of park. No other services nearby. Wonderful hiking opportunities. Many trail options of various lengths. Beach good 10 minute walk from parking lot, therefore always quiet. No easy handicap access to beach. Trails are well defined but at times steep, hills are very high.

Parking fee STRICTLY enforced!
