I've been in the process of looking for a home for a year and a half now. Since I'm a first time home buyer it started with me just getting an idea of what the market was like and what I could afford. Derick was very helpful answering any questions I had during his process. At the time I was also unsure of what city I would be living in because I was in the process of getting my career started. Even though I ended up moving to Traverse City, Derick still helped me with questions and getting started. Fast forward to the present, I was finally able to get a job in Grand Rapids so Derick once again started the search for me. Once I was preapproved we hit the market hard; Derick drove to all ends of Grand Rapids trying to find my perfect house. After only a week and a half we accomplished just that! Derick was very helpful and informative throughout the entire 2+ years my wife and I were searching for a home. We started casually looking back in August 2014 and have been in no rush to get a home as our living situation allowed us flexibility. Derick was never pushy and never lost his patience with us as we were quite picky in selecting our house. He was always understanding and adjusted our searches according to each house we didn't like. He was also knowledgeable of the different types of loans and listings that are out there. The Carini team was speedy with any and all paperwork that needed to be in and signed, and we never had to wait long to sign anything. Derick was very accommodating and willing to meet on our weird schedules and, again, was quick to set up showings. He is a great, down to earth guy and really seemed to care about our home buying experience more than just "getting a sale". We felt like we were his only customers through the whole process. My fiancé and I were looking for a home in Holland close to her daughters school. We first got in touch with Derick back on April 20 2016 and that's where the story begins. Derick showed us several homes and was very patient as it took us a while to find the home for us. Anytime we had a question or needed to get ahold of him he was always there. I definitely highly recommend Derick and Curt Carini for selling or buying properties. I had use Carini Realtors for buying a house twice, 2004 and recently 2016, and I am very pleased with their service. My recent Realtor, Derick, is a very patient, thorough, and detail-oriented person. He made sure we went through every procedure that met the criteria, so later on it won't cause us a trouble. He was always there for us and to guide us for every step and every little detail whenever we needed to check on the new listing(s). It took my fiance and I about over 3 months to search the house we're looking for. Prior to our new house now (that we took possession early August this year), we put an offer to another house and put down payment for $1000. He kept reminding us that after the house inspection we only had 10 days to make decision otherwise we would loose that down payment. So Derick is awesome!!! We made a decision just on time to pull back the offer due to the condition of that house after house inspection findings, and we didn't loose our down payment. As for the house we recently purchased, my fiance and I are extremely happy to be the house owner with Derick's assistance.
