This is where I (and my family) usually go for groceries. For the most part the checkout isn't too slow, as they have "under 20 item" lanes where you can get through faster. Whenever I go, I can usually find what I'm looking for (and more, let's be honest no one ever walks out of a grocery store with only what they came to get).
Meijer stores always have a fantastic selection! They have the selection of a Walmart, with higher quality items and a nicer atmosphere. I absolutely love their bakery section, and we placed an order for 15 different bakery items to use to create a dessert table at our wedding. The person on the phone who I ordered with was very helpful, answering all of my questions and helping me to create a delicious, all encompassing menu! However, when my dad went to pick up the items, the girl could not find the order, and delayed my dad 15 minutes in getting to the venue. He had to call me while I was getting ready to tell me they didn't have it, and we went back and forth with the girl. She finally found it: they were literally sitting on the counter right next to the register where she could just hand them to him. So, overall, not the best communication in their bakery department. The desserts were DELICIOUS however! They were gone!
As with all big Dept stores. They have 100 lanes, and only 4 open. Good selection of groceries and items, decent pricing. Just don't expect any employee to go out of their way to offer help. Open 24 hours.
It is what you would expect from a Meijer. It is a general goods store. It is updated and has plenty of room for navigating through the store. Getting out of the parking lot can be a challenge during busy times. There is a Starbucks in the front of the store to grab a coffee before or after shopping. Lots of self-checkout lanes if you are comfortable with that.
Very nice grocery store. Good prices and pretty clean on the inside. The store can get a little crazy during high traffic times. I prefer to go early morning or late a night when its a little emptier in the store. They pretty much have anything you could want.
